Pick it up flat. Carry it to fit-up. No re-rigging.
Our clips install on a flange lying flat, lift it from the horizontal, and stay on all the way to final fit-up, ready for torquing. One rigging setup from pickup to bolt-up. Choose broad coverage where flexibility helps, or dedicated geometry where flange weight makes control the priority.
- Designed to ASME BTH-1
- Every tool proof-tested before it ships
- Developed with working fitters
Different jobs call for different levels of flexibility.
Five tool styles, from the lightest one-hole clip to a dedicated davit. Each tool is sized to a specific flange range, so it only fits the flanges it's rated for.
Single-sided one-hole
One fit range and the lowest weight, for crews that handle the same flange size again and again.
Double-sided one-hole
Two fit ranges in one body. Worth the small weight increase when you need more sizes from fewer tools.
Adjustable two-hole
Holds the flange at two bolt holes to control rotation, with interchangeable dowels to cover a useful size range.
Fixed two-hole
Built for one flange size and class, where control and robustness matter more than range. Suits heavier flanges.
Dedicated davit
Supports and swings a specific flange or cover for extended work, based on our patented clamping arrangement.
Each tool matches a flange range by bolt-hole size and flange thickness. A tool physically won't seat on a flange outside its range, which keeps it from being used past its rated capacity.

How they're rated.
These are below-the-hook lifting devices, so we design and test them to the standard your safety department already uses.
Save fingers.
Flange work puts hands in pinch points: rigging the lift, moving the flange, and lining up the bolt holes. Every tool we make is designed to take hands out of that path.
Who's behind the tools
Flange Tools was founded by Bob Eyler, a mechanical engineer with 40 years of experience across industry. His work has centered on forensic failure analysis, reliability, and fixing problems at the source.
His approach has always been to design a hazard out rather than manage it. These tools apply that to a job where fingers are routinely at risk.
- M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, West Virginia University
- Graduate research on erosion in pneumatic conveying bends, cited in peer-reviewed literature for decades
- Patented and patent-pending tool designs

One-hole lift clip
How the clip seats in a bolt hole and the shackle and pin lock it together. Shown on the OH-3240 design concept for 32–40 in flanges.

Versatility where it helps. Dedicated control where it matters.
Smaller and mid-size tools can favor coverage and portability. As flange weight and the consequences of a dropped load go up, the right answer shifts toward two-hole or dedicated geometry, not more adjustability for its own sake.
